Tampa Bay Blues Festival coming April 11-13

ST. PETERSBURG - Each year since 1995 the Tampa Bay Blues Festival has been staged at beautiful Vinoy Waterfront Park in downtown St. Petersburg, and this year’s fest on April 11-13 is no exception.

The Tampa Bay Blues Festival has established itself as one of the world's preeminent blues music events, having presented more than 195 of the greatest blues performers, according to information on the Web site www.tampabaybluesfest.com.

Again, this year’s festival is no exception with the list of scheduled headliners including, The Robert Cray Band, Los Lonely Boys and Robin Ford.

A three-day pass is available for $75. One-day tickets are $30. Tickets are available online at www.tampabaybluesfest.com and all Tampa Bay Whitney Bank locations.

This year’s lineup is as follows:

Friday

- Billy Gibson – 12:30 to 2 p.m.
- Nick Moss and the Flip Tops – 2:30 to 4 p.m.
- Lucky Peterson – 4:30 to 6 p.m.
- James Hunter – 6:30 to 8 p.m.
- The Robert Cray Band – 8:30 to 10 p.m.

Saturday

- Trombone Shorty – 1 to 2 p.m.
- Tutu Jones – 2:30 to 4 p.m.
- Tab Benoit – 4:30 to 6 p.m.
- Walter Trout – 6:30 to 8 p.m.
- Los Lonely Boys – 8:30 to 10 p.m.

Sunday

- Tad Robinson – 1 to 2 p.m.
- Chris Cain – 2:30 to 4 p.m.
- Janiva Magness – 4:30 to 6 p.m.
- Rod Piazza and the Mighty Flyers – 6:30 to 8 p.m.
- Robben Ford – 8:30 to 10 p.m.

Plenty of food will be available, including seafood, barbecue, Cuban cuisine and more.  Premium beer and wine also will be sold.

Arts and crafts vendors also will be located throughout the park.

Proceeds from the annual event benefit Pinellas Association for Retarded children.

Festival-goers are advised to bring sunscreen and sunglasses, cash only for admission tickets and food and beverages. An ATM will be located at the event. Other necessities include blankets or chairs.

Organizers ask that attendees not bring beverages or food, large shade canopies, coolers, pets or professional recording devices. Small umbrellas will be permitted only in the middle to back of the park.

All personal items will be subject to search by the festival’s security team.

A free Shuttle will be running along First Street from First Avenue South (Al Lang Field parking lot) to Baywalk Parking Garage. The shuttle will deliver people to the front of the Vinoy Resort at Fifth Avenue NE and Beach Drive.
