Tickets available for summer’s hottest concerts

PINELLAS COUNTY – Dave Matthews, Yes, Steely Dan, Pearl Jam, George Michael and other top national musical stars have announced stops in Tampa Bay in the coming months.

Ticket sales began March 28 for Think Fast, Steely Dan Summer Tour 2008 coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall on Monday, June 9, 8 p.m. Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famers Walter Becker and Donald Fagan will perform songs from the group’s three-decades of signature hits, plus possibly some tunes from Becker’s upcoming solo album Circus Money, due for release on June 10. Tickets are $85.50 and $75.50 and available by calling the box office at 727-791-7400 or visit www.rutheckerdhall.com.

Ticket sales began March 29 for the July concert by the Dave Matthews Band and Gomez. According to concert organizers, fans can expect to hear song from Matthews’ latest studio album on Wednesday, July 9, 7 p.m., at the Ford Amphitheatre Reserve seat tickets are $75 and $67.50; $40 for festival lawn. Tickets are available online at www.livenation.com, at all Ticketmaster locations and by phone at 727-898-2100.

Ticket sales to Pearl Jam’s concert at the St. Pete Times Forum on Thursday, June 12, 7:30 p.m., begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5. Called one of the most influential bands of the modern era, Pearl Jam will be joined by special guest Kings of Leon. Tickets are $69.75 and available at the McDonald’s Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations and by phone at 727-898-2100.

Ticket sales also begin at 10 a.m. April 5 to a special pavilion-only show at the Ford Amphitheatre on Thursday, July 31, 8 p.m., as Yes celebrates its 40th anniversary with a North American tour. The line up for this tour includes founding members Jon Anderson and Chris Squire joined by Steve Howe, Alan White and Oliver Wakeman, son of former YES keyboardist Rick Wakeman.

Tickets for the “Close to the Edge and Back” tour are $149.50, $75, $55 and $35 and available at the Ford Amphitheatre Box Office, online at www.livenation.com, all Ticketmaster locations or by phone at 727-898-2100.

Ticket sales to George Michael’s first North American tour in 17 years begin on Monday, April 7, 10 a.m. Michael’s brings his 25 LIVE tour to the St. Pete Times Forum on Saturday, Aug. 2, 8 p.m. Reserve seat tickets are $151.75, $96.75, $76.75 and $56.75 and available online at www.livenation.com, all Ticketmaster outlets or charge-by-phone by calling 727-898-2100.
