The country singer recently released his self-titled album, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart. The album contains his first single, “Power of a Love Song.”
Known to millions as the Season 2 winner of FOX’s The X Factor, Syco Music/RCA Nashville recording artist Tate Stevens released his debut single, “Power of a Love Song,” from his April 23 self-titled major label album release.
The commanding new ballad showcases Tate’s billowing baritone vocal power and marks the lead single from his upcoming debut album.
Written by Jeremy Bussey, Bradley Gaskin, and Marcus Franklin Johnson, “Power of a
Love Song” encompasses a traditional country sound that solidifies Stevens’ authenticity in the genre as he makes his highly anticipated mainstream debut.
“The first time I heard ‘Power of a Love Song,’ I knew I had to record it,” Stevens said.
“The best love songs say what we can’t and get us through the tough times. The songwriters summed that up perfectly in this song. It is the power of a love song!”
Helmed by renowned Nashville producer Blake Chancey, Tate’s self-titled debut album will include 11 tracks, three of which he co-wrote.
“I had an amazing time making my first record,” Tate said. “Getting to work with some of the best writers in Nashville to write songs that I later went on to record is an incredible feeling. The recording process in my case happened much faster than it usually does, and my producer Blake Chancey was there for me every step of the fast pace process, and I can’t thank him enough.”
Among the highlights of making his album was collaborating with his longtime idol, Joe Diffie.
About the experience, Tate said, “The moment I sat down in that room with Joe, it hit me – this is my life now, this is my chance to follow in the path of my heroes and make my own unique mark on the genre – and that’s exactly what I plan to do.”
A native of Belton, Missouri, Tate entered the X Factor competition coming from humble roots as a blue-collar construction worker.
Tate had a great time filming his first music video – part of his X Factor grand prize from show sponsor Pepsi.
The resulting Pepsi music video for “Holler If You’re with Me” made its debut in a commercial during the 55th annual Grammy Awards.
