ST. PETERSBURG - Local bands, Coo Coo Ca Choo and Tin Pan Alley will play a benefit concert Friday, July 19, 8 p.m., at the historic Palladium Theatre, 253 Fifth Ave. N., St. Petersburg.
Tickets are $25. Proceeds will benefit the St. Petersburg Free Clinic family residence.
Family homelessness is at epidemic levels and there are far too few family shelters and units available in St. Petersburg and Pinellas County.
St. Petersburg Free Clinic Family Residence is designed to keep newly homeless families together and to prevent longer term family homelessness. Families with children are the fastest growing category of homeless persons. Families live in a homelike environment; perform daily and weekly house chores while they do the hard work of regaining stability. Families are given significant assistance in this endeavor from all of the partners in this collaboration, in order to shorten the term of homelessness.
About St. Petersburg Free Clinic
St. Petersburg Free Clinic is a multi-service, independent, not-for-profit human services agency providing our community neighbors temporary assistance with food, shelter and health care. The clinic has been caring for the underserved facing temporary emergency needs throughout Pinellas County since 1970.
As one of St. Petersburg’s major options for people in crisis, the Free Clinic is a multi-service, multi-site agency addressing the need for food, shelter and health care through five essential programs.
St. Petersburg Free Clinic depends almost entirely on tax-deductible donations, and 91 cents of each dollar donated goes directly to programs and services.
