CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Threshers will welcome OTown for a post-game concert Friday, Aug. 15, at Bright House Field, 601 Old Coachman Road.
The show will be the first American stop of the band's current tour.
Bright House Field gates will open at 5:30 p.m. for the 6:30 p.m. game against the Lakeland Flying Tigers. Tickets include admission to the game and concert following the on-field action. Ticket prices start at $5. Call 467-4457 or visit ThreshersBaseball.com.
"We are excited to announce OTown as our post-game concert for our ’90s themed night on Aug. 15," said John Timberlake in a press release. Timberlake is general manager of the Clearwater Threshers at Bright House Field. "We think the timing of the band getting back together and the release of their new album will be a great benefit to our fans as the first announced U.S. stop on their tour."
OTown was formed in 1999 as part of the ABC reality show, "Making The Band." Trevor Penick, Jacob Underwood, Erik-Michael Estrada, Ashley Parker Angel and Dan Miller signed with Clive Davis' J Records, released the No. 1 singles "Liquid Dreams" and "All or Nothing," and achieved platinum success with their debut album.
The band broke up in 2004, but now 10 years later Penick, Underwood, Estrada and Miller are reunited and making new music. Their new single, "Skydive," will be on sale July 27 and may be heard on their website at OTownofficial.com. A full-length album of new music, "Line & Circles," will follow in August.
The OTown concert takes place on 90's Night, a fun theme night at Bright House Field full of games, entertainment and wardrobes from the decade. The show is part of the Threshers Summer Concert Series, presented by Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy and New Belgium Fat Tire. An Old School Show featuring Coolio and Slick Rick is the July 11 entry in the concert series.
