Headlined by the Grammy Award-winning Hamilton, The Tampa Urban Music Fest also features the likes of R&B stars Lyfe Jennings, Mali Music, and Jazmine Sullivan. Comedian Kevin “Damn Fool” Simpson will host this night full of urban music’s most beloved performers.

Anthony Hamilton hit the Adult Contemporary scene in 2003 and has continued to provide hit after hit. The North Carolina native’s resume includes a platinum debut with Coming From Where I’m From in 2003. Two years later, he returned with the gold-certified sophomore set Ain’t Nobody Worryin’, which spun off the No. 1 hit “Can’t Let Go.” Then in 2008 came The Point of It All, which elicited USA Today’s declaration that Hamilton is “one of the genre’s rare singers”. Hamilton won his first Grammy Award in 2009 for his collaboration on Al Green’s “You Got the Love I Need”.

Accompanying Hamilton at this can’t-miss music event is Lyfe Jennings, Mali Music, and Jazmine Sullivan.

Lyfe began his soulful career in 2004 with the album Lyfe 268-192, which reached No. 9 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart. Two years later, Lyfe was nominated for Best R&B/Soul or Rap New Artist at the 2006 Soul Train Music Awards, and his song "Must Be Nice" received a nomination at the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Awards in the same year.

Mali Music took the R&B world by storm with his second major album, 2econd Coming. After several seismic performances at the BET Music Awards, Mali Music signed with ByStorm Entertainment at RCA Records and it did not take long before mainstream audiences whole-heartedly embraced Mali’s undeniable and uplifting blend of soulful R&B, invigorating hip-hop, and inspiring lyricism. Mali Music’s latest album, Mali Is, was released earlier this month and features the hit single, “Beautiful” which continues to climb the charts.

Jazmine Sullivan made her national television debut on Showtime at the Apollo at age 11 and signed to Jive Records at age 15. In 2008, Sullivan released Fearless, her debut album. Fearless topped the R&B charts and crossed over to reach number six on the Billboard 200, aided by "Bust Your Windows" and "Lions, Tigers & Bears" -- both of which reached the Top 10 of the R&B charts. This past spring, Sullivan released her latest song; a collaboration with Meek Mill titled, “Dumb.”
