World renowned soprano Maria Zouves hosts a concert of singers from the highly successful VOICExperience Summer Vocal Festival taking place around the Tampa Bay Area during the month of August.
This concert is part of a week of workshops, masterclasses and school outreach, building the singing stars and audience members of tomorrow.
Music Out of A Hat features an interactive evening of Broadway, opera, and familiar favorites. The audience will pick the program by placing their choices in a musical "hat." The performance will include prizes and surprises and lots of audience participation.
VOICExperience, which stands for Vocal and Operatic Intensive Creative Experience, was founded at Walt Disney World in 2001 by husband and wife team, opera stars Sherrill Milnes and Maria Zouves. Nurturing their commitment to developmental programming for classical singers, their workshops bring educators and performers in the theatrical and operatic world to singers and allow them to share their knowledge through masterclasses, private coaching, presentations, one-on-one consultations, lectures and performances.
Sherrill Milnes is a five-time Grammy nominated and three time Grammy winner and is internationally recognized as the leading Verdi Baritone of his time. His remarkable voice, artistic integrity, commanding stage presence, and rugged handsomeness have made him a favorite for all audiences.
Milnes was recently named artistic advisor to Opera Tampa and wife, Maria Zouves, as its new associate director.
Zouves is executive director and founder of V.O.I.C.Experience. She founded the program in 2001. Zouves teaches and produces outreach all around the world, having worked with IVAI in Montreal and Puerto Rico and IIVA in Chiari, Italy.
