Tickets on sale Aug. 27 to Florida Orchestra's 40th season

TAMPA – Single tickets to individual concerts for The Florida Orchestra's 40th Anniversary Season go on sale to the public on Monday, Aug. 27.

During the week of Aug. 20-24, orchestra subscribers can take advantage of Subscriber Appreciation Days, when they can purchase single tickets not included on their subscriptions or exchange their subscription tickets for other concerts of their choice before tickets go on sale to the general public Aug. 27.

Subscriptions are still available to the Progress Energy Masterworks, Raymond James Super Pops and the Holland America Line Coffee Concert Series.

Single tickets may be purchased through The Florida Orchestra Ticket Center in person or by calling 813-286-2403 or 1-800-662-7286.  The ticket center is at 101 South Hoover Blvd., Suite 100, in Tampa.  Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The orchestra’s 2007-2008 season opens Thursday, Sept. 27, with its first Holland American Line Coffee Concert “Season Fanfare”.  Complimentary coffee and donuts will be served prior to the 11 a.m. concert at the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg.

Sept. 28, a Salute to "The Duke" John Wayne, is the first concert in the Raymond James Super Pops series. The orchestra will celebrate the Duke’s 100th anniversary through music from True Grit, The Comancheros, The Alamo, and other classic films...along with fiddler extraordinaire Thomas Demer.

Stefan Sanderling, conductor and Louis Lortie, piano

GRIEG:  Piano Concerto and MAHLER:  Symphony No. 1, Titan
