ST. PETERSBURG - Red, Hot and Blue - A Cole Porter Celebration with Paul Wilborn and the Blue Roses is set for Friday, Sept. 29, 7:30 p.m., as part of the American Songbook Series at the Palladium Theater. Tickets are $20.

Popular crooner Paul Wilborn never met a sophisticated song he didn't like. In this concert and those upcoming in the American Songbook Series, he'll continue his exploration of the best American songwriting of the past century, accompanied by his infectious piano stylings, his dry wit and his great band, the Blue Roses. And there will even be surprise guest appearances from some pretty famous people, living and otherwise.

Nobody wrote 'em like Cole. The poor little rich boy from Peru, Ind., left behind a legacy of standards from Broadway and film that remains immensely popular today. The play list includes Cole's sexy side, his cynical side and his best romantic ballads and beguines, all spiced with anecdotes from his amazing life. This is a night fans of Cole Porter and fans of American music won't want to miss.

The Palladium is at 253 Fifth Ave. N. For tickets, call the box office at 822-3590, Monday through Friday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The box office also is open one hour prior to performances. For more information or tickets, visit www.mypalladium.org.
