CLEARWATER – Now in its 26th year, the MarineMax Clearwater Jazz Holiday presented by Mercedes-Benz will present some of jazz’s finest talents in concert Thursday, Oct. 13, through Sunday, Oct. 16.
Presented in the 20-acre landscaped Coachman Park in downtown overlooking beautiful Clearwater Harbor and the majestic Memorial Causeway Bridge, the Jazz Holiday is four days and four nights of some of the best of great live jazz presented free.
Scheduled to perform this year are: Thursday, Oct. 13, Fred Johnson and Brian Culbertson featuring Eric Darius; Friday, Oct. 14, ABCD with Billy Norris, Nestor Torres and Trio! Stanley Clarke, Bela Fleck and Jean-Luc Ponty; Saturday, Oct. 15, Les Sabler and Citiheat, Sakesho with Andy Narell, Rayford Griffin, Koko Taylor and Boney James; and Sunday, Oct. 16, Coolie Family Gospel Singers, REH/CJH Jazz Youth band, Liquid Soul and Ramsey Lewis Trio.
Over the years, the Clearwater Jazz Holiday, a totally free, four-day festival that attracts upwards of 70,000 fans, has been center-stage for numerous scholarship and educational activities to benefit the music students of our community – from the blues-loving beginners to piano-playing protégés, and everyone in between.
This year’s poster by artist Tim Boartright is entitled “In The Moment.”
Each performance of jazz music is unique.
Improvisation creates a moment in time that will never be experienced exactly the same again.
Volunteers are needed for the four-day event.
Shifts are short, fun and a great way to meet other jazz enthusiasts.
