LARGO – Swing cabaret style to big band sounds with the Grammy-nominated Dan McMillion Jazz Orchestra on Friday, Oct. 14, 8 p.m., at the Largo Cultural Center.
Dan McMillion is an extraordinary trumpet player and musician with a solid background in music, having opened for Carmen McRae, Peggy Lee and Joe Williams. He also played in the Woody Herman Orchestra. This electrifying 17-piece jazz orchestra boasts superb balance and exquisite harmony highlighting the music of some of the greatest jazz names, including Woody Herman, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Buddy Rich.
