ST. PETERSBURG - Singer-songwriter Alexa Wilkinson is on the road touring with The Samples and Shannon McNally through Nov. 7, promoting her debut album Lullaby Appetite. She'll open for The Samples on Friday, Oct. 26, 8 p.m., at Tamiami at Jannus Landing.
Wilkinson, 20, became interested in music at the age of 10, and is now making a name for herself as a versatile, self-taught musician. She has taught herself guitar and trumpet and developed her own vocal style. She has written hundreds of songs and performs for festivals, on TV and radio shows.
Now, she's appearing for the first time ever in St. Petersburg to treat local music fans to cuts from her recent album, which received rave reviews from fans and critics.
Lullaby Appetite is 11 tracks of extremely catchy melodies, toe-tapping rhythms and agile guitar playing. The lyrics are rich with expression, exposing a vulnerability and honesty that leaves a refreshing and indelible mark on your spirit. Released on DNK Records (owned by recording artist Josh Kelley.) Also catch Wilkinson’s music on iTunes.
After 20 years, The Samples still thrill to the call of the road, bringing their own special brand of fresh tunes to audiences everywhere. For more information, visit www.thesamples.com.
