TAMPA – Local favorite De Lei’d Parrots open for Jimmy Buffett on Nov. 1 and Nov. 3 at the Ford Amphitheatre. Doors open at 6 p.m. Show starts at 8 p.m. on both days.
Tickets range in price from $32 for festival lawn to $122. For tickets, visit www.livenation.com or www.ticketmaster.com.
Although Buffett needs no introduction, the Web site www.margaritaville.com, describes him as the “musical Mark Twain – a true American storyteller.”
Nothing could be more appropriate. For almost 40 years, Buffett has been breezing into musical history with hits such as “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” “Margaritaville,” “Migration,” “Pirate Looks at 40,” “Son of a Son of a Sailor” and more.
His many accolades include a 2003 CMA awards for “It’s Five O’clock Somewhere,” plus numerous Grammy and CMA nominations.
De Lei’d Parrots are Connie Church, steel drum, percussion and vocals; Paul Anthony, guitar and vocals; Tim Miller, keyboards and vocals; Greg Seitz, bass guitar and vocals; and Huey Carter, drums and vocals.
The band will be performing on Stage B at the Ford Amphitheatre on Nov. 1 and 3.
A look at their song list posted at deleiedparrots.com shows a number of Buffett hits, plus Allman Brothers, Eagles, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Bob Marley, as well as their own original tunes.
The band can be heard all around Pinellas at such venues at Sunsets at Pier 60, Bahama Momas, Dog Water Café, Treasure Bay Hotel and Marina, plus appearances at festivals.
