Opera Tampa celebrates its 15th anniversary with highlights of the season. Opera Tampa Apprentices present an exciting program of the most beloved music of La Rondine by Puccini and Lucia di Lammermoor by Donzinetti, directed by Maria Zouves, Associate General Director of Opera Tampa and Founder and Executive Director of The V.O.I.C.Experience Foundation.

The artistic contributions soprano Maria Zouves has already made in the operatic world has been quite profound. With the main focus of her career as the preservation and perpetuation of the vocal arts, she is a singer, director, producer, administrator and writer in her field. Maria directs much of her efforts on nurturing young talent, outreach for children and keeping opera a dramatic and theatrical art form. Since April of 2007, Maria has served as the Associate General Director of Opera Tampa, the resident opera company of the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.

Her work there has allowed the company continued growth, new innovative productions and the creation of educational programming with the conservatory of TBPAC, Patel Conservatory. Maria founded the Apprentice Program for Opera Tampa and leads all the classical vocal programming for Patel and for the Center at large.

She has become a sought after clinician, particularly in audition project work. Her master classes have been presented at her alma maters, Stetson University, University of South Florida, as well as Ruth Eckerd Hall, St. Petersburg Opera, Orlando Opera, Brewton Parker College and at the Classical Singer Convention.
