The Northeast Exchange Club is hosting Ribfest 2012, Friday through Sunday, Nov. 9-11, at Vinoy Park, 701 Bayshore Drive NE., St. Petersburg.
ST. PETERSBURG – The Northeast Exchange Club is hosting Ribfest 2012, Friday through Sunday, Nov. 9-11, at Vinoy Park, 701 Bayshore Drive NE., St. Petersburg.

Presented by Bright House Business Solutions, organizers say, “Ribfest is considered a St. Petersburg premier charity fundraising event with great food and a social gathering for the entire family.”

Enjoy national recording artists all three days on the Main Stage and popular local bands on the Fifth Avenue Stage. Visit the Family Fun Zone on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and check out the Classic Car and Truck Show on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m..

Gates open all three days at 11 a.m. and close after the last musical act.

Award winning “ribbers” from across the globe are traveling to St. Petersburg for three days of fun. Sample ribs from vendors from as far away as Australia and Canada and as close to home as St. Petersburg. Other food offerings include funnel cakes, elephant ears, hot pretzels, corn on the cob, onion bloomers, ice cream, hot dogs, onion rings, sweet potato fries, Texas fries, strawberry shortcakes, lemonade, kettle corn, make your own sodas and deep friend candy bars, Oreos and Twinkies.

Stop by the Rockin’ Pig Saloon for beer, wine and other alcoholic beverages. Must be age 21 and older and receive identification for entry into areas selling alcohol.

The Family Fun Zone includes a number of free activities hosted by Great Explorations Children’s Museum. Activities are free for children under age 12 accompanied by an adult with paid admission except the giant inflatables – a $12 ticket allows children to ride all day.

No food, beverages, coolers, pets, lasers, professional cameras, audio or video recorders will be permitted in the park. No video or audio recording of any kind allowed in the park. Blankets and small lawn chairs are allowed. Chair rentals are available for $5 a day. All purses and bags will be subject to a thorough search at the gate.

Northeast Exchange Club's Ribfest has raised over $3.5 million over the years. These proceeds have continued to help the community with its efforts to prevent child abuse, help build a new children's hospital, contribute to many youth oriented causes, help individuals in need and promote Americanism.
