PINELLAS PARK - The Local Revolt Music Series rolls out some of the Tampa Bay area’s hottest bands on Saturday, Feb. 11, noon to 10 p.m., at England Brothers Park, 5010 81st Ave. N.
Gates will open at 11:30 a.m. and the music will start at noon.
The rain-or-shine outdoor event will include performances by 10 local bands coming together to create a full day of music. Between sets, DJ XL and comedian Lou Angelwolf will keep the audience entertained.
“There will be 10 of the best local bands within 100 miles of Tampa performing,” said Reyna Martin, event coordinator.
The band lineup is as follows:
- The Surfin’ Raccoons - noon to 12:40 p.m. - Johnny Cakes and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypso - 1 to 1:40 p.m. - UNRB - 2 to 2:40 p.m. - Rock ’n’ Chair Band - 3 to 3:40 p.m. - Santino - 4 to 4:40 p.m. - 10th Concession - 5 to 5:40 p.m. - The Jeremy Thomas Band - 6 to 6:40 p.m. - Consinity - 7 to 7:40 p.m. - Khora - 8 to 8:40 p.m. - The August Name - 9 to 10 p.m.
Headlining the show will be The August Name.
Based in St. Petersburg, this alternative rock outfit blends a variety of musical styles and influences to forge a distinctive sound. Members include Ryan McGibbeny on vocals; Evander Lipps, drums; Dacian Miron, guitar; J.J. Faustino, guitar; and Mike Daniel, bass.
CLEARWATER - Having established itself as a leader among a new generation of string ensembles, the Daedalus Quartet will perform Saturday, Feb. 11, 8 p.m., at Capitol Theatre, 405 Cleveland St.

For this performance, the Daedalus Quartet will explore the delicate beauty of 19th century Austrian composer Franz Shubert. In addition, the ensemble will perform a contemporary piece.
Winner of Lincoln Center’s Martin E. Segal Award and Chamber Music America’s Guarneri String Quartet Award, Daedalus’ current lineup includes founding members Min-Young Kim, violin; and Raman Ramakrishnan, cello. The two spent their childhood in East Patchogue, Long Island. Jessica Thompson, viola, joined after meeting the musicians at the Marlboro Festival. Ara Gregorian, violin, is the most recent addition, having joined the quartet in 2010.
The Tampa Bay Symphony will give its Winter series of concerts under the baton of guest conductor Mark Sforzini on Sunday, Feb. 12, Tuesday, Feb. 14 and Wednesday, Feb. 15.
Sforzini is artistic director/conductor of St. Petersburg Opera and formerly principal bassoon with The Florida Orchestra.
The Feb. 12 concert begins at 4 p.m. in Tampa at Ferguson Hall, Straz Center for the Performing Arts. On Feb. 14, the symphony travels to the St. Petersburg at The Palladium, 253 Fifth Ave. N., for an 8 p.m. concert. On Feb. 15, 8 p.m., the symphony performs at the Arts Auditorium on the St. Petersburg College Clearwater campus, 2465 Drew St.
Tickets at the door are $20 for adults and free for students. Students 18 and over must show student ID.
The theme of the February concerts is “Romantic Obsessions.”
CLEARWATER - Prince of Peace Lutheran Church will present a pipe organ concert on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 3 p.m., with the "King of the King of Instruments" Paul Jacobs, head of the Organ Department at Juilliard.
He is the first organist in history to win a Grammy Award in the category of Best Instrumental Soloist Performance (without orchestra).
Called "precisely what the organ scene needs right now" by the Los Angeles Times, Jacobs has been lauded by critics and audiences alike for his tremendous technical abilities and for the wide range of emotions he is able to coax from the instrument. He will perform works by Bach, Elgar, Nadia Boulanger and Jeanne Demessieux among others.
