ST. PETERSBURG – Keep St. Pete Lit presents Teenage Wasteland, a music and literary event, Thursday, Jan. 23, 7 p.m., at The Local 662, 662 Central Ave.
The event will feature local writers reading their unedited teenage works including poems, diaries and love letters, as well as original works inspired by the angst and isolation of adolescence.
Readers include KSPL president Maureen McDole, Lynn Waddell, Sheree Greer, Cathy Wos, Kat Lynes, Jeffrey Skatsky, Shae Krispinsky, Sorella Andersen, Elizabeth Augustine, Tommy Slade, Craig Young and Samira Obeid.
The event also will include local musical acts Tom’s Ragdoll, Y Los Dos Pistoles and Slade & the Wasters.
Cost is $7 at the door; there will be drink specials throughout the night. Attendees must be 18 or older to enter. All proceeds will benefit Keep St. Pete Lit.
Founded in October 2012, Keep St. Pete Lit is dedicated to preserving the literary past and fostering the literary future of St. Petersburg and Pinellas County through arts, education and community events. The group celebrates and promotes reading and writing by creating accessible, innovative local events that educate the community about literature, authors and the writing process, while contributing to St. Petersburg’s role as a vibrant arts destination.
