DUNEDIN – The Dunedin House of Beer will celebrate Tampa Bay Beer Week with an all-day party on the water. Beerfest 2013 runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Edgewater Park near the Dunedin Marina in Downtown Dunedin.
Beerfest is family friendly, free and benefits local grass roots organization, Dunedin Doggie Rescue.
More than a dozen selections of all local Craft Brew, Micro and Nano-Breweries. Wine tent also is available. Food from Old Bay Café to include choices like smoked chicken and pork, fish tacos and hamburgers. Food and drink tickets will be on sale for $5 each.
Live music all day starting with local singer, songwriter Michael Nichols at noon and legendary blues artist Steve Arvey at 3 p.m. Headliner, ShakeMode takes the stage from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
ShakeMode performs all around Tampa Bay at venues such as the Hard Rock in Tampa and the Venue in Clearwater. The group has played for the Tampa Bay Bucs, Lightning and Rays. Their sound is an amalgam of contemporary and classic hits and originals.
Jimmy Needs Meds will have a live show at the Dunedin House of Beer at 10 p.m.
Other Tampa Bay Beer Week festivities include a Beer Dash 5K on Thursday, March 7, at the Dunedin House of Beer. Register at beerweek.racehawk.com. Registration fee is $10 online or $15 the day of the race and includes a T-shirt and two beers. The event starts at 6:30 p.m.
