Relax at a beer tasting to celebrate the Buccaneer Beer Fest at the Bay Area Renaissance Festival March 9 and 10
TAMPA – Fill your mug with Ale during the Buccaneer Beer Fest at the Bay Area Renaissance Festival on March 9 and 10. Special events this weekend will include Arm Wrestling Championships, Pet Fest vendors and entertainment and fun pirate contests.
Bring your family, friends and furry companions to meet our featured pet related exhibitors in Piper’s Valley that will include vendors such as A1 Pet Treats, Dalmation Rescue of Tampa Bay, Happy Paws Bakery and Emporium, Pet City Center and Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary! Patrons can enjoy demonstrations and pet entertainment from local Tampa Bay companies, Muttville Comix and Tampa Bay Working Dog Club.
Grandpa Jon’s will be a featured food vendor in the Special Events Field this weekend offering fresh smoked fish for all patrons to enjoy. Primp your pet and enter them in the Pet Costume Contest to win great prizes or challenge your stomach with the Hot Dog Eating Contest.
Shiver me timbers! Pirates will be joining the Realm during the Buccaneer Beer Fest! Patrons can participate in the Perfect Pirate Contest at 12:30 p.m. or join the Swab the Deck Competition at 11 a.m. to win fun prizes.
Bring your competitive spirit and cheering fans to the Arm Wrestling Championships. Cheer on your favorite competitor for the “Southeastern States Arm Wrestling Championship” and the “Florida Power Pull.” A diverse field of participants to compete for these esteemed titles will include first time competitors and national champions.
Both championships are divided by weight classes and age divisions for the novice and experienced, right and left handed, as well as men and women. Registration will be accepted both days of the competition and beginners are encouraged to register.
After patrons have exhausted their strength, it’s time to relax at a beer tasting to celebrate the Buccaneer Beer Fest. Sampling will include a variety of lagers, ales and stouts.
The Bay Area Renaissance Festival continues through April 7. The Festival is open weekends, with a special day for schools and seniors on Festival Friday, March 22. The Festival is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. rain or shine.
Admission at the gate: Adults $18.95; Children 5 to 12 $10.95; four and under are admitted free. Free parking is provided by James Rivard Buick GMC.
