TARPON SPRINGS - The City of Tarpon Springs presents cooking classes from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, March 15, April 12 and 26, at the historic Safford House, 23 Parkin Court, Tarpon Springs.
The cost is $20 a class, or $18 for students with an ID card.
Excellent community cooks teach the delicious cuisine of the Greek islands Cuba — and everyone enjoys a meal together after the class. Join in for food, fun, and fascinating cultural insights at the historic Safford House. The schedule is as follows.
• March 15 - Maria Pantelis — Greek psaro plaki (baked fish with vegetables) bread, pastaflora (strawberry pie)
• April 12 - Nikki Christu – halkitika makaronia (pasta & fried onions) and side dishes from the island of Halki
• April 26 - Marisella Veiga – Cuban tambor de picadillo (shepherd’s pie with plantains), avocado/lettuce salad, and fresh fruit cocktail
