CLEARWATER – The Morton Plant Mease Foundation is hosting New York Times bestselling author, Mary Kay Andrews, at its annual Planters Spring Luncheon on Monday, April 28, 11 a.m., at the Sandpearl Resort and Spa, 500 Mandalay Ave. The annual event is presented by regions Bank and benefits local nursing students with scholarships to continue their education.
Andrews is the New York Times bestselling author of 21 novels, including “Ladies’ Night,” “Christmas Bliss,” “Spring Fever,” and “Summer Rental.” She also wrote 10 critically acclaimed mysteries, including the Callahan Garrity mystery series under her real name, Kathy Hogan Trocheck. Her mysteries have been nominated for the Edgar, Anthony, Agatha and Macavity Awards.
The Planters is a group of Morton Plant Mease Foundation members dedicated to establishing an educational, social and friend-raising network for women and supports community outreach programs and events. The luncheon supports the Lois Odence Endowment, providing nursing students with financial assistance for such expenses as childcare and transportation, and has granted more than $100,000 to deserving students.
