Safety Harbor celebrates May Days, May 16-18

SAFETY HARBOR - The city of Safety Harbor hosts the May Days Weekend of events on Friday May 16, through Sunday May 18, 2008 on Main Street in Downtown Safety Harbor.

Admission and parking are free at all events. Proceeds from the events will benefit the Safety Harbor Museum of Regional History and the Safety Harbor Kiwanis Club. The line up of events is as follows:

Friday, May 16

- 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Gazebo in John Wilson Park - Mommy and Me Time – Pre-school event featuring Music, playful activities and arts and crafts projects.

- Noon to 2 p.m. at the Gazebo in John Wilson Park - Lunchtime concert with live jazz entertainment by the Al Secen Duo.

- 6 to 10 p.m. on Main Street from Bayshore Boulevard to Sixth Avenue - Third Friday Music Series with live rock entertainment at the Gazebo by the Wildlife Refugees. Main Street businesses stay open late as the street comes alive with food, beverage, arts and crafts vendors and more. Proceeds benefit the Safety Harbor Museum of Regional History.

Saturday May 17

- 5 to 10 p.m. on Main Street and the Gazebo in John Wilson Park - The party continues with The Taints playing Rock-a–Billy at the Gazebo while vendors and businesses show their wares. Proceeds benefit the Safety Harbor Museum of Regional History.

Sunday May 18

- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Street - Kiwanis Arts and Crafts Show on Main Street. Arts and crafts vendors display their finest works. Proceeds from the events will benefit the Safety Harbor Kiwanis Club.

Admission for all events is free. Food and beverages will be sold at most of the events.
