Swing Time! hosts pre-Independence Day

GULFPORT - Swing Time hosts a Pre-Independence-Day Celebration on Friday, July 3, at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom, featuring live and swingin' music by Charlie Vegas & the New Blues Combo. Free watermelon will be served. Red, white and blue dress is encouraged.
The event kicks off with a group swing-dance lesson, 8 to 9 p.m. (no partner needed), followed by live music and dancing, 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. There will be dance exhibitions at band intermission.
Charlie Vegas & the New Blues Combo features sax, drums, bass, and Charlie himself on guitar, harmonica & vocals. Whether it's up tempo & jumpin' or low down and gritty, these guys deliver a huge and varied repertoire of dance favorites.
Swing Time takes place one Friday each month in Tampa Bay at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom, 5500 Shore Blvd. S., Gulfport.
The event is for all ages and is smoke free. Extras include prize giveaways and a full bar.
Admission is $11 and includes dance lesson and parking.
