LARGO – The Armed Forces History Museum will sponsor two special events this summer.

Upcoming special events include the following:
• Ride Through History – Back by popular demand, Ride Through History will return for four dates this summer. Ride Through History will be offered Saturdays, July 12 and 26; and Aug. 9 and 23, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 4 to 12. Ride Through History takes guests back in time with WWII re-enactors from the 1st Infantry Division conducting presentations and drills, as well as military vehicle rides, museum tours, free hot dogs, and 10 percent off of all museum store merchandise.
• Snoozapalooza: A Night at the Museum – For the very first time the Armed Forces History Museum will be producing a sleepover. This after-hours event will begin on Friday, Aug. 1 with registration between 6:30 and 7 p.m. The event will end on Saturday, Aug. 2 at 8 a.m. Children and their adult companions can experience a night of adventure featuring movies and popcorn, WWII re-enactors, make your own sundaes, a scavenger hunt in the dark, Virtual Voyager simulator rides, arts and crafts activities, and a hot breakfast cooked and served by the Marine Corps League's Morris F. Dixon Jr. Det. 54. Children must be between the ages of 6 and 12, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is 21 or older, and must have an adult child ratio of 1:3. Everyone is asked to bring a sleeping bag, pillow, blanket and flashlight. Tickets are $65 for adults and children. Tickets for groups of 10 or more are discounted to $55 each by calling the museum's group sales department at 539-8371, ext. 107.
