Ride Through History Back by popular demand, Ride Through History will return for four dates this summer. Ride Through History will be offered Saturdays, July 12 and 26; and Aug. 9 and 23, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 4 to 12. Ride Through History takes guests back in time with WWII re-enactors from the 1st Infantry Division conducting presentations and drills, as well as military vehicle rides, museum tours, free hot dogs, and 10 percent off of all museum store merchandise.
Snoozapalooza: A Night at the Museum For the very first time the Armed Forces History Museum will be producing a sleepover. This after-hours event will begin on Friday, Aug. 1 with registration between 6:30 and 7 p.m. The event will end on Saturday, Aug. 2 at 8 a.m. Children and their adult companions can experience a night of adventure featuring movies and popcorn, WWII re-enactors, make your own sundaes, a scavenger hunt in the dark, Virtual Voyager simulator rides, arts and crafts activities, and a hot breakfast cooked and served by the Marine Corps League's Morris F. Dixon Jr. Det. 54. Children must be between the ages of 6 and 12, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is 21 or older, and must have an adult child ratio of 1:3. Everyone is asked to bring a sleeping bag, pillow, blanket and flashlight. Tickets are $65 for adults and children. Tickets for groups of 10 or more are discounted to $55 each by calling the museum's group sales department at 539-8371, ext. 107. Please note that guests must register and pay no later than July 26 as space is limited.
