SAFETY HARBOR – A food drive and summer sidewalk sale add that little extra something to Safety Harbor’s Third Friday Music Series on July 18, 6 to 10 p.m., at the gazebo and throughout downtown.

Sponsored by 5/3 Bank, this fun family event features live music, food and craft vendors along Main Street from Bayshore Boulevard. to Sixth Avenue. The music kicks off at 6 p.m. with live music by rock band, John Q, at the gazebo, as well as live music at local restaurants and venues throughout downtown.

The number of local families receiving food donations has increased substantially over the last few months. To help out, from now until Sept. 21, the Third Friday Music Series is holding a Summer Food Drive to benefit the Safety Harbor Neighborhood Family Center. Folks are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations with them to the event or drop them off any time at any of the participating Safety Harbor businesses.

Summer time gets hot, but event goers can keep cool by browsing the many air conditioned downtown shops and by enjoying lots of frosty tropical fruit smoothies, snow cones and ice cream. The grown-ups can enjoy ice cold Budweiser, wine and sangria from Ed’s Fine Wines and margaritas from Countryside Liquors. Proceeds from the event will benefit Tampa Bay Harvest.

Admission and parking are free.

For more information, call the city of Safety Harbor’s Special Events Department at 727-724-1572.
