The Gecko's are coming Aug. 30 to Gulfport

GULFPORT - The eighth annual Gulfport Gecko Fest is Saturday, Aug. 30, noon to 10 p.m., on Beach Boulevard in Gulfport.
This free quirky celebration brings together strolling street performers, main stage performers and vendors with all types of weird and wonderful wares up and down Beach Boulevard.
Join Belly Dancers; Troupe Zahara, Barnaby the clown, Kim the magician, the Village Villains and West Coast Mutineers, and Bohemian Fire, who will all be roaming the streets and entertaining the crowds.
Free live entertainment also will be provided on three main stages, plus enjoy or participate in the Gecko Walking Parade. The day of fun ends with Gulfport's famous street dance at 8 p.m.
Geckofest attracted more than 15,000 patrons in 2007 and is expected to expand again this year.
Partial Proceeds will benefit the St. Petersburg Aids Walk.

Fundraiser
Domain Food and Spirits will host a Geckofest fundraiser on Sunday, July 27, from 3 to 7 p.m., 5501 Shore Blvd.
Come see what the buzz is all about and win fantastic merchandise and certificates donated by local shop owners and restaurants. Silent auction and chance drawings. fun, food and spirits. Come for the food and stay for a while.
