LARGO – UF/IFAS Pinellas County 4-H will host its fall carnival Saturday, Aug. 19, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Heritage Village, 11909 125th St., Largo.
Seeking to attract new members, the club welcomes those interested in getting involved with Pinellas County 4-H to this carnival-themed open house. The event will feature games and informational sessions about the club.
The open house is a free event and will give interested young people, ages 5 to 18, the opportunity to see what 4-H clubs are offering participants this upcoming year. Adults interested in volunteering with the organization are also encouraged to attend.
4-H is looking for young people interested in developing leadership skills, volunteering in the community and searching for fun ways to learn. The open house will feature animals, carnival games, and include educational activities, fashion shows and project demonstrations for children to get an up-close and personal experience with 4-H activities. Information sessions about 4-H clubs will be held at the top of every hour. A silent auction will be held with proceeds benefitting Pinellas County 4-H.
The event will take place in the back of Heritage Village by the windmill and water tower. Parking will be available at Heritage Village and the Florida Botanical Gardens.
