DUNEDIN – Dunedin’s Downtown Merchants Association will present Taste of Dunedin on Sunday, Sept. 14, from 1 to 5 p.m.
In addition to offerings prepared by the famed Dunedin restaurants, this year’s event will include live music in Pioneer Park throughout the afternoon and arts and crafts booths and demonstrations along Main Street in Dunedin for people to enjoy as they walk around Florida’s Favorite Walkable City.
Everyone who purchases tickets for Taste of Dunedin, either in Pioneer Park on the day of the event or online at www.DuendinResturantWeek.com; www.TasteofDunedin.com will have an opportunity to register to win some prizes, including a three-day, two night stay in the Penthouse Suite at Beso Del Sol Resort.
All of Dunedin’s fine restaurants have been invited to participate. Since the event is sponsored by the Dunedin Downtown Merchants Association, many of Dunedin’s outstanding boutique shops will have taste items available along with information about the restaurants around town that have prepared the delicious foods. Of course, the Main Street Dunedin restaurants will have their own taste samples available, too. Proceeds of “Taste” will help DDMA produce future events during 2014.
To celebrate the excellent cuisine available in Dunedin, the entire month of September has been designated as “Culinary Month” by Dunedin’s Mayor Dave Eggars.
Taste of Dunedin will be a kickoff to Dunedin Restaurant Week, which will begin on Sept. 14 and continue the culinary celebration through the following Sunday. Participating Dunedin restaurants will offer special foods and drinks as they seek to win this year’s Platinum Plate Awards for best food, best chef and best event promoter during Dunedin Restaurant Week. Check the website at www.DunedinRestaurantWeek.com to find out about special “Dining Deals” available all week long.
Diners who visit participating restaurants during Dunedin Restaurant Week will have an opportunity to vote for the awards and register for a growing list of prizes every time they dine during Dunedin Restaurant Week. A list of prizes and event sponsors also is available at www.DunedinRestaurantWeek.com.
While more restaurants are deciding to participate each day, the list currently includes Bon Appétit, Café Al fresco, Casa Tina’s, Pan-y-Vino, Clear Sky’s new Draught House, The Living Room on Main, the Black Pearl and Sea Sea Riders.
A portion of the proceeds from Dunedin Restaurant Week will be given to Clearwater’s Homeless Emergency Project.
