Labor Day has long been known as the last hurrah of summer. Although most students are already back to school, one last three-day weekend is a welcome treat for everyone. Anyone looking for something to do around Pinellas might try these events.
• Celebrate Oldsmar, Friday, Aug. 30, 5 to 9 p.m.; and Saturday, Aug. 31, noon to 9 p.m., at R.E. Olds Park, 107 Shore Drive West, Oldsmar. The festival will feature food, carnival rides, art vendors and games. On Friday, The Superstars will present live music. On Saturday, Jeff Vitolo and The Quarter Mile Rebels will perform. From 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, the festival will offer inflatables and pony rides. There will be fireworks at 9 p.m. Admission is free. Attendees may bring their own seating. • Sponge Docks Arts and Crafts Festival, Saturday through Monday, Aug. 31 through Sept. 2, at the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks, 50 Dodecanese Blvd., Tarpon Springs. The festival will run 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and will feature 90 of the nation’s top artists and crafters exhibiting and selling their homemade creations.
