ST. PETERSBURG – Northeast Exchange Club members say mark your calendars now. The 25th anniversary of Ribfest is Nov. 8 through 10 at Vinoy Park in downtown St. Petersburg.
Presented this year by Bright House Networks Business Solutions, the event features ribs, music and fun for the entire family in the kid’s zone.
The fun-filled three day event - “Rockin’ Ribs – Helpin’ Kids” – features some of the best barbecue ribs in the world national touring artists playing classic and southern rock and country hits.
Taking the stage this year, with more bands to be announced soon are Reo Speedwagon playing on Friday, Gin Blossoms and Sister Hazel on Saturday, and Josh Thompson, Randy Houser and Justin Moore playing Sunday.
Advance online ticket sales begin Sept. 1 at www.ribfest.org and Oct. 1 at the “Official Ticket Outlet”, Circle K Stores.
Through the years Ribfest proceeds have contributed $3.5 million to local causes including:
• All Children’s Hospital
• Child abuse prevention centers and organizations
• Northeast Exchange Club service projects with Youth and Community Service
• Promoting Americanism by installing Freedom Shrines in local schools and in other public buildings.
Ribfest is the community’s way to help these youth focused causes by simply coming out and sampling the best ribs in the world and listening to great music.
