ST. PETERSBURG – Vintage aircraft will take to the skies over St. Petersburg during the Suncoast AirFest, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8 and 9, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Albert Whitted Airport.
Presented by the Albert Whitted Airport Preservation Society and the Rotary Club of St. Petersburg, the event will feature nationally acclaimed aerobatics acts, including three-time world aerobatics champion Patty Wagstaff. Also featured will be World War II vintage aircraft formation flights and static displays, antique cars, exhibits, food and music.
“We are very excited about this year’s AirFest lineup,” said Terri Griner, AWAPS president. “We have an outstanding line-up of experienced air show pilots and vintage aircraft. There is something for the entire family.”
Nationally renowned air show pilots Otto the Copter, John Mohr, Jim “Fang” Maroney and Bob Cox will take part in the festival.
Tickets are $12 adults; advanced tickets, $10; seniors 65 and over, $10. Children under 12 and active military are free.
