Event canceled Old-fashioned picnic, car show to benefit CMA
Latest information: An old-fashioned picnic and car show to benefit the Clearwater Marine Aquarium on Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Tarpon Springs estate of Al Wiseman and his wife, has been canceled. As of Thursday, a new date had not been set.
According to organizer, Jean Zaralban, the uncertainty of the weather makes it necessary to cancel. Zaralban said the event would have taken place in the huge outdoor pavilion and the food would have been cooked on a grill located outside the pavilion.
"This is just devastating," Zaralban said. "This is the worst two years in the 45 years I've lived in Florida."
She said a new date would be set if possible. - Updated Thursday, Oct. 20.
TARPON SPRINGS – Clearwater Marine Aquarium will host an old-fashioned picnic on Saturday, Oct. 22, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the estate of Al Wiseman and his wife.
As part of the event, Wiseman will conduct a tour of his private collection of about 110 rare and famous antique and classic automobiles. The collection includes Eisenhower’s Cadillac, the motorcycle Steve McQueen rode in “The Great Escape” and a one-of-a-kind Duesenberg.
The event also will feature food, music and drink.
Tickets are $50 a person and there will be a cash bar. Proceeds will benefit the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Attendance will be limited.
