MADEIRA BEACH - No longer simply a sleepy fishing village, the new Johnís Pass plans to host its first ever Oktoberfest Craft Beer Block Party on Saturday, Oct. 12, 3 p.m.
Diverging from the traditional beer festivals in form and function, admission will be free, the local entertainment is high energy, and the vibe is pure good times.
Opening the show is an acoustic performance by Tampa Bayís own Eric Thompson out of Mac Dill Air Force Base. Starting at 6 p.m., hosts Infinite Skillz and Da Beav will heat up the night on the turntables playing the bays best dance music. Food from local restaurants Hooters and Delosa's pizza will be available.
To keep things interesting then night will be filled with activities and games for those in attendance. Sign up for the $1,000 top prize corn hole tournament that begins at 3 p.m. Non-tournament corn hole play will be available as well. Chances to win cool prizes and schwag will occur randomly throughout the evening.
And of course, donít forget the beer. In attendance will be some of the best local Florida beers and other select craft beers around. Breweries being featured include Rapp Brewing, Tampa Bay Brewing Company, Pensacola Bay Brewery, Florida Ave Ales, Big Storm Brewing, and Bold City Brewery with a sneak peak tasting from Johnís Pass Future resident brewery Mad Beach Craft Brewing Company.
Free parking in metered spots in Johnís Pass is an added bonus.
The party is located in the main parking lot of Johnís Pass directly behind the VFW at 12901 Gulf Blvd, Madeira Beach. Admission is free.
