Ghost Tours of Tampa Bay debuts the new Tampa by Twilight: Ghosts and Graveyard Tour just in time for Halloween.
TAMPA BAY - Ghost Tours of Tampa Bay will expand its tour offerings for the 2012 Halloween season to include the new Tampa by Twilight: Ghosts and Graveyard Tour.
The tour features a visit to Oaklawn Cemetery, Tampa’s oldest cemetery, as well as a downtown stroll with stories about Tampa’s haunted hotspots. The tour takes place on weekends in October.
Regularly scheduled Ghost Tours in Tampa, St. Petersburg and John’s Pass are also available. Each 90-minute walking tour is guided by a costumed storyteller who reveals Florida’s secret history of ghostly encounters. Tours are scheduled every night through Halloween and beyond.
Each tour reveals the Bay area’s unique haunted history.
Tampa by Twilight: Ghosts and Graveyard Tour
Beginning in Tampa’s oldest and most haunted cemetery, Oaklawn Cemetery, guests will hear stories of never-ending love, untimely deaths, and trust betrayed. After the cemetery, a short walk to downtown reveals the ghosts that roam the courthouse, an old hotel, a famous theater, and more. The-90 minute guided walking tour begins at 5:30 p.m. on select evenings in October at Oaklawn Cemetery, 606 E. Harrison St. Tampa, FL 33602.
Ghost Tour of Tampa
In downtown Tampa, guests will discover the quirky, haunted side of the city once described as the “damnedest town this side of Hell,” with eerie and entertaining stories of restless spirits, haunted sites and lost cemeteries. The 90-minute guided walking tour departs every night at 8 p.m. from Fresh Café, 507 N. Franklin St. Tampa, FL 33602.
Ghost Tour of St. Petersburg
Along St. Petersburg’s quaint streets and beautiful waterfront, visitors will discover what lurks in the shadows of Florida’s Sunshine City, with stories of ghostly lovers, haunted mansions, and wandering spirits. The 90-minute guided walking tour departs every night at 8 p.m. from Hooker Tea Co. and Café, 300 Beach Dr. NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
Ghost Tour of John’s Pass
In John's Pass, brave souls can venture on a Ghost Tour of the boardwalk and village, hearing tales of buried treasure, pirates, eerie tragedies and modern day hauntings. Tours depart every night at 8:00 p.m. from Hubbard’s Marina Information Booth under the Boardwalk, 150 Boardwalk Place W, Madeira Beach, FL 33708.
The ghost stories shared on the tours are all based on research and interviews. Some of the stories stem from recent firsthand experiences; others date back hundreds of years. The tours are based on the books Ghost Stories of St. Petersburg, FL and Ghost Stories of Tampa, FL by Tim Reeser.
