Antique addicts flock to Tampa Bay

The Tampa Bay area boasts some of the best antiquing destinations in Florida.
Whether looking for ancient relics and historic artifacts or collectible bric-a-brac and knick-knacks, the old axiom “one person’s trash is another person’s treasure” holds true for antique addicts. With an abundance of antique malls and collectibles shops, flea markets and antique fairs, incorrigible collectors should have little problem finding that special something that fits their definition of treasure.
Following is a partial list of area dealers, flea markets and upcoming special events for both serious collectors and weekend bargain-hunters.

• Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 20 through 22 – Renninger’s Antique Extravaganza, 20651 U.S. 441, Mount Dora. Buyers will find a wide selection in 200 shops inside the enclosed building and among the 1,400 dealers outdoors. • Saturday, Nov. 28 – Retro-Rama Antiques and Collectibles Show, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the historic Gulfport Casino Ballroom, 5500 Shore Blvd. S., Gulfport. This popular holiday season show will feature exhibitors of fun stuff from the 1930s through the 1960s including retro furnishings and décor, vintage fashion, toys, games and dolls as well as magazines, movie memorabilia and ephemera.
