ST. PETERSBURG - On Saturday, Dec. 15, eight homes with rooms decorated for the holidays, will open their doors to visitors for a Holiday Tour of Homes. All proceeds from ticket sales, $15 in advance and $20 day of the event, will benefit The Florida Orchestra.
Co-chaired by Florida Orchestra Guild, St. Petersburg, president Sheila Tempelmann and Guild member Maritza Smith, the one-day event will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 4 p.m.
Four of the homes are on Snell Isle in St. Petersburg, and four are in Gulfport at Pasadena Yacht and Country Club. One was built as a “green” home, and aspects of its energy-efficient design will be featured. In all homes, only rooms decorated for the holidays will be included on the tour.
Tickets are available for $15 each at the Guild table in the Mahaffey Theatre lobby before Florida Orchestra concerts in December. They may also be ordered by sending checks for $15, payable to Florida Orchestra Guild, St. Petersburg, Inc., to Lorraine Danna, 779 Ponce De Leon Drive, Tierra Verde, FL 33715.
On the day of the tour, tickets will be available for $20 at the following homes on the tour: in the Snell Isle area in St. Petersburg at 125 Lamara Way NE, off Brightwaters Boulevard NE; in the Pasadena Yacht & Country Club area in Gulfport at 5907 Pelican Bay Plaza South.
Only checks or cash are accepted in advance and on Dec. 15 at the door.
The Guild plans to have a boutique at one of the Gulfport homes for purchasing last minute gifts. Additionally, a silent auction for a 7-foot fully decorated designer Christmas tree valued at over $1,000 will take place at another of the homes on tour.
Habana Café, 5402 Gulfport Boulevard South, near the four homes on tour in Gulfport, will offer 10 percent discounts on lunch on tour day.
