From left, RiffTrax hosts Bill Corbett, Kevin Murphy and Michael J. Nelson plan to poke fun at the SyFy Channel film "'Sharknado" on July 10. The event will be broadcast live to select theaters across the country.
In the coming weeks, Fathom Events will present several special screenings at select area theaters.

BBC Worldwide North America and Fathom Events will celebrate Emmy Award-winning actor David Tennant in a two-night special theatrical screening event all for the price of one ticket.

Tennant will be featured on the big screen as the Tenth Doctor in the epic two-part Doctor Who story "Rise of the Cybermen/The Age of Steel" on Monday, June 16, 7:30 p.m. local time.

The screening will feature never-before-seen bonus content from Tennant himself.

The next night, attendees will experience the earth from a bird's eye view in "Wings 3D" narrated by Tennant, on Tuesday, June 17, 7:30 p.m. local time. The screening will be presented in RealD 3D.

Tickets for "Doctor Who Cybermen + Wings 3D" are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. The event will be presented in 620 select movie theaters around the country through Fathom's Digital Broadcast Network.

Following is a list of participating Tampa Bay area theaters:

Regency 20 with IMAX, Brandon
Park Place Stadium 16 with RPX, Pinellas Park
Citrus Stadium Park Mall 20, Tampa
Veterans 24 with IMAX, Tampa

In this special theatrical cut of "Doctor Who: Rise of the Cybermen/The Age of Steel," the TARDIS is trapped on a parallel Earth and Rose discovers her father is still alive. But sinister forces are at work as John Lumic prepares British society for the Ultimate Upgrade reawakening an old enemy. Can the Doctor and Rose save the people from conversion or will they face deletion at the hands of the Cybermen?

These episodes mark the first appearance of the Cybermen in the relaunched series of "Doctor Who" bringing a brand new look to the Doctor's terrifying adversaries. "Doctor Who" is BBC America's highest rated series and celebrated its 50th Anniversary last year.

Next, from Emmy Award-nominated director John Downer comes the theatrical event "Wings 3D," a groundbreaking aerial adventure.

This feature-length RealD 3D experience was filmed with revolutionary aerial devices and techniques to fly right alongside birds. This breathtaking journey will take viewers across the world's most iconic landscapes to the heart of the greatest animal spectacles on Earth: snow geese dash through Monument Valley and New York City, vultures ascend miles above the earth then dive down to huge wildebeest herds below, scarlet macaws race at breakneck speed through the rainforest. Using unique, state-of-the-art 3D cameras in barely accessible and highly dangerous places, the audience has never before been so close to the drama and beauty of nature until now.

The next big screening event will feature a contemporary cult classic dissected by the stars of RiffTrax.

Just when you thought "Sharknado" - a movie about mega-cyclones sucking up sharks from the ocean and hurling them onto land - couldn't get any more absurd, the RiffTrax folks have blown those expectations right out of the water and created a perfect storm of hilarious.

The sidesplitting RiffTrax crew - Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett best known for the groundbreaking "Mystery Science Theater 3000" - is set for what may be their most epic event ever as they take on the Syfy instant cult classic "Sharknado."

Presented by Fathom Events, RiffTrax, The Asylum, IGN and Syfy, "RiffTrax Live: Sharknado" will be broadcast live from the historic State Theater in Minneapolis to select movie theaters nationwide on Thursday, July 10, 8 p.m. EST.

There also will be a second showing on Tuesday, July 15, 7:30 p.m. local time.

Tickets for "RiffTrax Live: Sharknado" are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. The event will be presented in nearly 650 select movie theaters around the country through Fathom's Digital Broadcast Network.

Following is a list of participating Tampa Bay area theaters:

Regency 20 with IMAX, Brandon
Woodland Square 20 with IMAX, Oldsmar
Park Place Stadium 16 with RPX, Pinellas Park
Citrus Stadium Park Mall 20, Tampa

"Sharknado" premiered on Syfy on July 11, 2013, becoming an immediate worldwide sensation, generating nearly 5,000 tweets a minute and quickly amassing nearly 400,000 social mentions. In August, Fathom Events and The Asylum held a raucous midnight showing in more than 200 theaters nationwide. Fans should also keep an eye out for "Sharknado 2: The Second One," which will premiere Wednesday July 30 on Syfy.

Produced by The Asylum, "Sharknado" is the story of beachside bar regulars including owner Fin (Ian Ziering, "Beverly Hills 90210"), bartender Nova (Casie Scerbo, "Make It Or Break It") and local drunk George (John Heard, "Home Alone") as they team up with Fin's ex-wife April (Tara Reid, "Scrubs") to investigate the ecological nightmare that has sharks swimming through the streets of Los Angeles and falling from the skies.

"We're excited to have landed the big fish that is Sharknado. For a long time we've wanted to do a shark based movie as well as a tornado based film so we think combining the two will be twice as thrilling for our audience," said Michael J. Nelson, RiffTrax creator and former host of the Emmy-nominated, Peabody Award-winning "Mystery Science Theater 3000."

"We have had tremendous success separately with both 'Sharknado' and RiffTrax. Putting the two of them together is a marriage made in apocalyptic, flying-shark heaven," said Dan Diamond, senior vice president of Fathom Events. "Fans are going to be figuratively, and probably literally, rolling on the floor laughing."

But wait - there's more.

Fathom Events and Picturehouse Entertainment will present true British comedy legends on July 20, 23 and 24, including an exclusive live showing.

For the first time in more than three decades, Monty Python comedy legends John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin will reunite on stage for a special, historic trip down memory lane. "Monty Python Live (mostly)" will be broadcast live to cinemas on Sunday, July 20 at 2:30 p.m. EST. There will be additional showings on Wednesday, July 23 and Thursday, July 24, at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for "Monty Python Live (mostly)" are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. The event will be presented in more than 420 select movie theaters in the United States through Fathom's Digital Broadcast Network. For a complete list of theater locations and prices, visit the Fathom Events website. Theaters and participants are subject to change.

In July, fans from around the world will have the opportunity to join one of the most anticipated live events of the year, and bid farewell on this final curtain call of the Pythons live from London's O2 Arena performance.

"What could be finer at the end of a long life in comedy, than a chance to reunite with old pals and say goodbye to all our fans in one final mad musical show," said Eric Idle in a press release from Fathom Events. "We are very excited that not only do we get the chance to screw up on stage, we get a chance to screw up live in cinemas too."

Monty Python rightfully holds a place among the world's finest comedians, influencing generations and revolutionizing comedy on their way to greatness. Monty Python first hit U.K. TV screens with "Monty Python's Flying Circus," which saw 45 episodes broadcast over four BBC series between 1969 and 1974. The Pythons were an instant success and became the face of British comedy. They went on to achieve overwhelming international acclaim with the huge success of films such as "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" in 1975, "Life of Brian" in 1979 and their final film, "The Meaning of Life" in 1983.

"Monty Python fans won't want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see this iconic comedy troupe in their only onstage reunion," said Dan Diamond, senior vice president of Fathom Events. "The Python's will be at their finest, leaving fans in movie theaters rolling in the aisles as they relive some of the greatest moments in comedy history."

"We're delighted to be working with Fathom to bring this very special event to audiences throughout the United States," said Marc Allenby, director of distribution at Picturehouse Entertainment.
