ST. PETERSBURG - The second annual Cult Classics Summer Movie Series is underway at the Dali Museum, One Dali Blvd., St. Petersburg.
This year's series kicked off June 17 with a screening of the 1984 hit "Ghostbusters," starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Harold Ramis, Rick Moranis and Ernie Hudson.
Movies are shown on the patio of the museum's Avant-garden. The series will continue through September. Doors open at 7 p.m. and movies begin at sunset. Admission is free and the screenings are open to the public. A cash bar is available along with food trucks and games. Pets, coolers, outside food and beverages are not permitted. Attendees are invited to bring a lawn chair.
The remainder of Dali's 2014 Summer Cult Classics Movie Series lineup is as follows:
"Wayne's World" - Tuesday, July 15
"Airplane" - Tuesday, Aug. 19
"Fight Club" - Tuesday, Sept. 23
During the films, the museum galleries will be closed. Visitors can return during normal museum operating hours to view the permanent collection and special exhibition, Marvels of Illusion, which runs through Oct. 12.
The films will be offered rain or shine - films will be shown inside the museum's Raymond James Community Room in the case of inclement weather.
