Rob Lowe stars as Hank and Cameron Diaz as Annie in Columbia Pictures' "Sex Tape."
Dusty Crophopper returns in Disney sequel Planes: Fire & Rescue. A number of new movies will hit theaters this week, including the following films opening in wide release.

Sex Tape
Genre: Comedy
Cast: Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel, Rob Corddry, Ellie Kemper and Rob Lowe
Director: Jake Kasdan
Rated: R

Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) are a married couple still very much in love, but 10 years and two kids have cooled the passion.

To get it back, they decide - why not? - to make a video of themselves trying out every position in "The Joy of Sex" in one marathon three-hour session. It seems like a great idea, until they discover that their most private video has gone public. In a panic, they begin a wild night of adventure - tracking down leads, roping in friends, duping Annie's boss - all to reclaim their video, their reputation, their sanity, and, most importantly, their marriage.

Planes: Fire & Rescue
Genre: Animation and adventure
Cast: Dane Cook, Ed Harris, Julie Bowen, Curtis Armstrong, John Michael Higgins, Hal Holbrook, Wes Studi, Brad Garrett, Teri Hatcher, Stacy Keach, Cedric the Entertainer, Danny Mann, Barry Corbin, Regina King, Anne Meara, Jerry Stiller, Fred Willard, Captain Dale Dye, Kevin Michael Richardson and Patrick Warburton
Director: Bobs Gannaway
Rated: PG

"Planes: Fire & Rescue" is a new adventure-comedy about second chances, featuring a dynamic crew of elite firefighting aircraft devoted to protecting historic Piston Peak National Park from a raging wildfire.

When world-famous air racer Dusty (voice of Dane Cook) learns that his engine is damaged and he may never race again, he must shift gears and is launched into the world of aerial firefighting. Dusty joins forces with veteran fire-and-rescue helicopter Blade Ranger (voice of Ed Harris) and his courageous team, including spirited air tanker Dipper (voice of Julie Bowen), heavy-lift helicopter Windlifter (voice of Wes Studi), ex-military transport Cabbie (voice of Captain Dale Dye) and a lively bunch of brave all-terrain vehicles known as The Smokejumpers.

Together, the fearless team battles a massive wildfire and Dusty learns what it takes to become a true hero.

The Purge: Anarchy
Genre: Thriller
Cast: Frank Grillo, Michael K. Williams, Carmen Ejogo, Zach Gilford, Kiele Sanchez and Keith Stanfield
Director: James DeMonaco
Rated: R

The New Founders of America invite you to celebrate your annual right to Purge.

"The Purge: Anarchy," the sequel to summer 2013's sleeper hit that opened to No. 1 at the box-office, sees the return of writer/director James DeMonaco to craft the next terrifying chapter of dutiful citizens preparing for their country's yearly 12 hours of anarchy.

The following will open in limited release. It may be several weeks before these films appear in local movie theaters.

I Origins
Genre: Science fiction
Cast: Michael Pitt, Brit Marling, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Steven Yeun and Archie Panjabi
Director: Mike Cahill
Not rated

"I Origins" follows a molecular biologist whose study of the human eye points to evidence with far reaching implications about our scientific and spiritual beliefs.

Persecuted
Genre: Drama and suspense
Cast: James Remar, Fred Dalton Thompson, Gretchen Carlson, Dean Stockwell, Bruce Davison, Brad Stine and Natalie Grant
Director: Daniel Lusko
Not rated

"Persecuted" tells the story of a modern-day evangelist named John Luther, played by James Remar.

Luther is the last hold out for a national endorsement to make sweeping reform in freedom of speech that would compel religious leaders to provide equal time to those of other faiths as a U.S. Senator, portrayed by Oscar-nominated actor Bruce Davison, and his political allies create a sinister plan of denial and scandal to frame John Luther for murder. Suddenly his once normal life is turned upside down as he becomes a fugitive vowing to expose those responsible. It is a mission that brings him face-to-face with the coming storm of persecution that will threaten the moral ethics and freedoms of America.
