American Stage breaks record for season mainstage subscribers
Article published on Friday, Jan. 13, 2006
ST. PETERSBURG - American Stage recently broke all of its previous season subscription records during its recently completed 2005-2006 mainstage season subscription campaign, tallying 2,330 total subscribers.

"We are very grateful to our 30,000 annual patrons and 2,330 mainstage subscribers in the Tampa Bay area for supporting American Stage as we continue to grow and bring the best in professional theatre to local audiences," said Todd Olson, American Stage's producing artistic director. "It is exciting that we are seeing record growth."

Although American Stage has steadily increased subscribers over the past four seasons, the theater had never topped 2,000 total subscribers in its 27 year history. The highest previous total number of subscribers was during the 1999-2000 season, when 1954 mainstage subscriptions were purchased.

The mainstage season subscription series consists of six plays at the theater, located at 211 3rd St. S. Subscription prices range from $84 to $170, depending on which night is attended and what package is purchased.

The 2006-2007 season subscription campaign will begin in March with the announcement of next season's line-up of mainstage productions. A new option for next season's subscribers include the ability to purchase single tickets to American Stage special events as part of their subscription, which includes the 22nd season of American Stage in the Park.

"A season subscription entitles the owner to great savings over purchasing single tickets, invitation to special subscriber only events and guaranteed seat selection," said Olson.

For more information or to purchase tickets, call American Stage at 823-PLAY or visit www.americanstage.org.
