TARPON SPRINGS - Bring your sweetheart to see The Pirates of Penzance, Feb. 14-16, at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, 324 Pine St.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.
The pirates of Penzance are looking for a bevy of beautiful maidens on the rocky coast of Cornwall. Their dutiful 21-year-old apprentice Frederic can’t figure out why his elusive leap-year birthday won’t occur for decades. The mellifluous Mabel trills her way to true love, and the panicked policemen face their fears by hiding. The very model of a modern Major-General might find out that the revenge-seeking pirates are really all noblemen who have gone wrong. Hail, hail the gang’s all here!
The Pirates of Penzance is presented by the Gilbert & Sullivan Players and is directed by Jamie Bierchen with music direction by Constantine Grame.
Tickets are $18, $16 for members and students. Call 727-942-5605 or purchase online at TarponArts.org.
