ST. PETERSBURG – One of America’s premier comedy talents – Dennis Miller – will bring his brand of low key humor to The Mahaffey Theater, Saturday, March 30, at 8 p.m.
Since 2007, Miller has hosted “The Dennis Miller Show,” his nationally syndicated Dial Global (formerly Westwood One) Radio talk show, five days a week. He is also a regular contributor to FOX News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor.”
Miller, a five-time Emmy award winner for his critically acclaimed, half-hour HBO talk show, “Dennis Miller Live,” also garnered three Writer’s Guild of America Awards for the show and an additional WGA Award for his 1997 HBO special, “Dennis Miller: Citizen Arcane.”
A recently released DVD Set, “Dennis Miller: The HBO Specials,” features his “Raw Feed” comedy special and six other HBO standup shows. Miller is a popular guest on many politically-oriented television talk shows for his topical reasoned discourse, opinion and humor.
The multi-talented and versatile comic achieved success as an author with his four books, I Rant, Therefore I Am, The Rants, Ranting Again and The Rant Zone, all New York Times best sellers. He has been cast in serious, dramatic roles in films including 1994’s Disclosure, 1995’s The Net, 1997’s Murder at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and 2008’s What Happens in Vegas.
For two seasons, Miller called the plays alongside Al Michaels and NFL Hall of Fame quarterback, Dan Fouts, on ABC’s Monday Night Football and, for six years, served as the “Weekend Update” correspondent on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.
Both a public and critical favorite, Miller has been called “a smart aleck” by The New York Times with “an uncommonly sharp eye” who “reaches a bit farther than most comedians for the scorching comment.”
Miller currently serves as the National Spokesperson for USA Cares, a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to military families in need.
