Tamburitzans of Duquesne University coming to TSPAC

TARPON SPRINGS - Back by popular demand, The Tamburitzans of Duquesne University return to the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, 324 Pine St., for an encore performance on March 19 at 7:30 p.m.

Based on the exciting music, songs, and dances of Eastern Europe and neighboring cultures, the Duquesne University Tamburitzans is one of the longest-running live stage show of its kind in the United States. Via a two-hour cultural journey through Eastern Europe that is filled with color, sound and movement, the ensemble relates the joys of life and the timeless beauty of the many cultures which it artistically represents.

Company members come from all corners of the United States, Canada, and Eastern Europe, bringing exceptional talents and lifetimes of performing experience to the stage. Founded in 1937, the ensemble of 35 young artists performs an average of 80 shows per season from coast to coast and has received critical acclaim both stateside and abroad for performing excellence.

The company's repertoire reflects the traditions of more than 100 nationalities and is dedicated to perpetuating the cultural heritages of Eastern Europe and its neighbors.
