'Little Shop of Horror' plays SPLT

ST. PETERSBURG - One of the longest running monster hits of off Broadway, "Little Shop of Horrors," screams into St. Petersburg Little Theatre, April 25-May 11.
Based on the low-budget cult movie by Roger Corman, "Little Shop of Horrors" opened off Broadway in 1983 and has been packing theatre’s ever since. With its appeal for kids and adults alike it’s a rock and roll, rhythm and blues extravaganza.
A hilarious musical spoof of the 1950s sci-fi classics, a down and out nerd on skid row becomes an overnight sensation after finding an exotic plant. While the plant has a killer singing voice, it also has a lust for blood and a quest for global domination. With a score of fabulous songs by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken:
Show times are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20; $10 for students.
