HUDSON - The burlesque musical "Sugar Babies" returns to the Show Palace Dinner Theatre, April 18-June 1.
"Sugar Babies" is a riotously funny, nostalgic trip for those who remember burlesque and a happy discovery for those too young to recall this irreverent form of American entertainment.
All of the classic scenes, including Meet Me Round The Corner are here, along with such wonderful songs as “Exactly Like You”, “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love”, “Don’t Blame Me” and “The Sunny Side Of The Street.”
On Broadway Mickey Rooney and Ann Miller headlined this burlesque-inspired musical. This glitzy production is filled with chorus girls, tap dancing, sequins, double and quadruple takes, fright wigs and a million laughs. The show also ends with a sparkling tribute to patriotism and everyone’s favorite uncle - Uncle Sam.
The Show Palace has assembled a cast of favorites to headline this exciting return engagement. Matthew McGee brings his own brand of pratfalls and mugging to the Show Palace as he prepares to play the Top Banana. Katie Kerwin strikes a formidable pose as she taps, sings, and tells jokes in the illusion of the great Ann Miller.
The show also features a bevy of scantily clad chorus girls guaranteed to steal the show and some gentlemen’s hearts.
The Show Palace Dinner Theatre is located at 16128 Hwy. 19 in Hudson.
