Article published on Tuesday, May 6, 2008
TAMPA - Hat Trick Theatre Productions presents "Burn This" by Landford Wilson, May 9-25 at the Silver Meteor Gallery, 2213 E. Sixth Ave., Tampa.

Show times are 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday. Industry night in Monday, May 19, 8 p.m.

Have you ever had that moment where you realize the people closest to you turn out to be the ones furthest away?

Whether they are tears of laughter, joy, or sadness in your eyes, your heart will be pounding as Joe Winskye directs four of Tampa Bay’s finest actors in this gripping drama about the distance between people.

Anna, a young dancer-choreographer, arrives home from attending her roommate Robby's funeral. With sudden, unexpected explosiveness, Robby's older brother, Pale, bursts on the scene. He has come to collect his brother's belongings and together Pale and Anna find an unsettling but compelling love that neither wants but they cannot turn away.

Hat Trick Theatre is proud to welcome two of its founding members back to the stage to take the lead in this production. April Bender and Kevin Whalin play Anna and Pale, and bring new light and fiery chemistry to these unlikely lovers.  Steve Fisher returns just on the heels of "Funny Money," Hat Trick’s smash hit farce, to star as Burton, Anna’s current boyfriend.  Rounding out the cast is Chris Rutherford as Anna’s roommate Larry.

An opening night party on May 9 includes free food and drink after the show. Industry night is May 19. All working artists can get into the show on a "pay-what-you-can" pricing.
