TARPON SPRINGS - The Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center brings one of the most beloved musicals of all time to the stage Friday through Sunday, July 11-13 and 18-20.
Show time is 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein, The Sound of Music was destined to become the world’s most popular musical. When a postulant proves too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval captain. Her kindness and generosity of spirit gradually capture the heart of the stern captain and his children. With one of the most thrilling and inspirational finales ever presented in the theatre, this musical (and its movie counterpart) has been loved by audiences for over 50 years.
The show is directed by Jamie Bierchen with music direction by Constantine Grame.
