CLEARWATER – West Coast Players has recently received “rave reviews” – not just for its productions, but for the new theater seating.
Last year, West Coast Players – nonprofit arts organization – raised nearly $25,000 for the new theater seating and completed the renovation with “countless hours of volunteer help,” according to a press release. The theater now boasts plush new red seats, elevated rows for better viewing, a new light and sound booth, new carpeting and lighted aisles.
Now, the theater, located at 21905 U.S. 19 N. in Clearwater, is hoping to bring its lobby up to speed. According to the press release, the lobby upgrade will cost about $3,000. Plans call for repositioning the bar, painting, carpeting, dramatically displaying photos from past shows, adding new seating and lighting and lighting the outdoor sign.
One of the theater’s patrons recently agreed to double funds donated. To get the matching donation, however, WCP must raise $1,500 by Sept. 15.
