ICT “Miracle on 34th Street” auditions Oct. 7-8

ST. PETERSBURG - Island Community Theatre holds open auditions on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 7-8, at 7 p.m. at the Keller Williams Realty Gulf Coast office, Suite 300 at 5999 Central Avenue in St. Petersburg, for its production of "Miracle on 34th Street."
Roles are open for children (age 7 and up), adults and two romantic leads in the age range of 30 to 45.
The production runs Nov. 29-Dec. 16, at the Catherine Hickman Theater, 5501 27th Ave. S., in Gulfport and is directed by Lary Award-winner David Middleton.
An American holiday tradition for more than 50 years, "Miracle on 34th Street" is the classic family story pitting a department store Santa against a world that has become impersonal and materialistic.
In "Miracle of 34th Street," Kris Kringle is the personification of good will and holiday spirit. As Macy's holiday Santa, he enchants children and shoppers so completely that he is deemed dangerous by fellow employees who question his competency and plot to ruin him. A small girl's belief in Santa and the magic of the holiday is at stake in a climactic courtroom decision. This hilarious, tender and charming show for the entire family is a Christmas classic.
