PINELLAS PARK - Stand-Up Librarian Meredith Myers brings her show to the Venue Theatre for two performances on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, 8 p.m.
“So a comedian walks into a library and decides to work there…”
You've seen stand-up, but not like this! Join comedian/librarian Meredith Myers for an hour of hilarious literary entertainment as she riffs on pop culture icons, authors, story time and books, books, books! Did we mention she sings literary parody songs while dancing on a book cart?
A native of St. Petersburg, Myers has been performing comedy across the country since 2002.
Myers has a Masters degree in Library and Information Sciences from USF and started performing stand-up comedy since 2002 after checking out a comedy book from her local library.
Binding her experiences in comedy and libraries, Meredith created www.StandUpLibrarian.com in 2010 with the purpose to entertain while educating people about the importance of literacy and libraries. In addition to performing, she most recently launched Stand-Up Librarian Designs, a literary purse business that she designs and sews herself because "if there is one thing cooler than reading a book, it is wearing it."
